Although similar to the Quebec banc-lit , this piece was acquired from a farm in western Ontario and is in as found untouched condition.

This piece is a real one door glass chimney cupboard with original finish and cast hindges. These built in piece usually have no back boards and sit flush to the floor.
We salvaged a old back to adapt to this cupboard and made it fully removable if desired. I  was attracted to this piece for it's size and uniqueness in having a glass door front and original finish.

Very early painted pine stepback in old polychrome age cracked grey/blue over original blue paint. Purchased at auction in 1958 in Albany NY and brought to the west coast in 1980. Loose overpaint was removed using dry scraping technique to secondary color.

Back is three large 18 inch boards.

Interior is bitter sweet color. With framed three drawers  and center three panel format ..Great piece.

This is a nice clean example of an 18th century small commode/bufffet in typical Quebec style construction. The finish has lots of red highliting with strong patina as it appears to have never been sanded or over finished.

Size is wonderful with functioning drawer and doors. Piece has original hardware with 1920 addition of knobs (easily removed), as well as bold double raise panels on the doors and sides. See books on "The early french furniture of french Canada" for similar examples .

Recently acquired from a private collection with no structural problems or alterations.

This is the best apothecary we have ever seen in Canada. We acquired it from a home in Manilla, Ontario where it had been kept by a family of physicians for generations. It is in original first surface paint, forged and square nailes, as well as solid clear pine with fine dovetailed drawers.

This is a post construction clear large pine blanket chest in old second surface blue age cracked over an original blueberry blue ..The color is blended together with age and maintains a bright strong presence.  Recently acquired from a private Vancouver collection where it has been sitting for 20 years untouched.  The forge hindges have been replaced by a pair of 1850 baldwin knuckle hindges.

This is a great example of Quebec furniture and have recently been much harder to find.
